ANZRAP: Australia & New Zealand Respiratory Audit Program
The Australia and New Zealand Respiratory Audit Program (ANZRAP) is a long-term research and quality improvement program that will adopt a bi-national approach to improve the quality of care, clinical outcomes and health service provision for people with respiratory illness in Australia and New Zealand.
Improving respiratory care across Australia and New Zealand
ANZRAP will describe the current quality of care, including but not limited to access, availability and timeliness of care received by people admitted with exacerbations of COPD or asthma. We will identify gaps in clinical care delivery against quality indicators described in current and emerging clinical care standards. This work will support and inform future quality improvement projects.
ANZRAP aims to provide comprehensive data on COPD and asthma care in Australia and New Zealand to:
Understand prevalence and risk factors for exacerbations & hospitalisations,
Examine healthcare provision, quality of care, and clinical outcomes,
ANZRAP is proud to partner with patient advocacy groups and peak respiratory bodies in Australia and New Zealand.
Governance
ANZRAP is a collaborative effort led by a steering committee of clinicians and researchers in Australia and New Zealand. ANZRAP is informed by guidance and feedback from our consumer representative group and key stakeholders from our partner organisations to ensure outputs are aligned with patient and partner needs.
Public and private hospitals providing respiratory care for people with COPD or asthma in Australia and New Zealand are eligible to join ANZRAP as participating sites.
The ANZRAP team will provide training and support for participating sites to collect and enter data in our COPD, asthma, and organisational audits. Participating sites will receive site-specific reports to better understand current care in their service.
